According to news report on 24 August 2010 in Beijing, road construction that won’t be done until the middle of next month has caused a 60-mile traffic jam. The traffic jam hit the 10 day mark on 24 August. At one point the cars were moving about half a mile each day. The traffic jam on the Beijing-Zhangjiakou highway started on August 14th after large coalfields were found in a section of the highway.
