1400 staff belonging to NASA’s main contractor, which is in charge of space shuttle operations. United Space Alliance in Florida, Texas and Alabama notified its workers as to the layoffs this week, amid a host of foreseen budget cuts.
The workers in question, 900 of whom were headquartered at the Kennedy Space Center, will no longer be employed effective October first.
