PIAGGIO TO LAUNCH VESPA IN INDIA BY END OF 2011-EARLY 2012

Piaggio has announced plans to launch its Vespa LX 125 scooters in India by the end of 2011 or early 2012. It was announced by the chairman and managing director of Piaggio India, Ravi Chopra, on the sidelines of a conference on the future of the car industry. Piaggio India plans to invest about 30 million euro in the construction of a production plant in the Asian country with an initial capacity of 150,000 units per year.
