AIDS: AUSTRIAN BISHOP, CONDOM OK WITH INFECTED PARTNER
The use of condoms is permissible in couples in which one of the two partners is affected by AIDS. The statement was made by Klaus Kueng, the Bishop of St. Polten, in Lower Austria. The prelate explained that, although the position of the Catholic Church remains unchanged on refusing the use of condoms, “going into the detail of given situations, it is possible and even necessary, to make a distinction”. .
