BP PRESSURE ON UK GOVT OVER LOCKERBIE ACCORD

BP has admitted that it put pressure on the UK government in 2007 to release the Lockerbie bomber. At the same time the company emphasised that it took “no part in negotiations for the release of Abdel Basset al-Megrahi. The British oil company explained this in a press release in response to attacks from a number of US senators, who have demanded the opening of an inquiry.
