BP TO START LIBYA DRILLING BY END OF OCTOBER

BP is to start drilling in Libyan waters in the Gulf of Sirte ‘by the end of October at the latest’. The Wall Street Journal quotes chairman of Libya’s National Oil Corp (NOC), Shokri Ghanem: “They are delaying (the start of operations) because of technical problems, they want to be assured that all the instruments are working well and they don’t want a repeat of (a disaster like) Macondo.”
