CARS: NEGATIVE TREND FOR JULY 2ND-HAND CAR SALES (-7.4%)

According to ACI, the negative trend for used car and motorcycle sales continued throughout the month of July. The Italian Automobile Club claims second-hand car sales fell 7.4% and second-hand motorcycle sales registered a -1.8% trend against the same period last year. For every 100 new cars sold, 145 used cars were sold in July, and 126 were sold in the first seven months of the year. The market for second-hand motorcycles saw a 1.6% boost in the first 7 months of 2010, whereas the figure for cars fell 2.1%. .
