ECB: SQUEEZE CONTINUES, BANKS SHOULD LEND MORE

The monthly ECB bulletin says the credit squeeze on companies is to continue, and banks should make more loans. The bulletin goes on to say that growth per cent on 12 months of bank loans to the private sector, which is still weak, is hiding compensatory trends – loans to families are seeing an increasingly positive shift, while loans to non-financial companies are seeing negative growth stabilise.
