At least ninety people have been killed in flash floods in Indian Kashmir and dozens more are still missing. In one of the worst affected areas, the town of Leh in the Ladakh region, local authorities said that the floods caused “unprecedented” devastation. TV footage from Leh showed collapsed buildings, destroyed roads and hundreds of people desperately fighting not to drown and struggling to rescue their possessions.
