FRENCH NEW CAR REGISTRATIONS -12.9% IN JULY; FIAT -8%
The number of new cars registered in France fell by 12.9% in July on an annual basis to 169,804 units. New car sales were hit by the end of government funded part exchange deals. The CCFA, (French Automotive Constructors Committee) also reported an 8% drop for Fiat compared to July 2009, which was nevertheless a better performance than that recorded by other companies in France. In the first six months of the year sales of new cars in France rose by 2.8%.
