GERMANY: 45,000 TEACHERS SHORT, PENSIONERS BROUGHT BACK

Germany is desperately short of teachers, and due to a 45 thousand shortfall, is currently recruiting pensioners. According to data from the “Deutscher Philolgenverband” (DPV), the German teachers’ association, when schools reopen in all 16 laender, there will be 45 thousand teachers too few, 30 thousand of them maths and other science teachers.
