HEATWAVE GRIPS 17 TOWNS IN ITALY

More heatwaves and extreme temperatures, which are expected to hit 38-39C on Friday, are keeping Italy under siege. Heatwave red warnings have been issued for Bolzano, Brescia, Campobasso, Civitavecchia, Florence, Frosinone, Genoa, Latina, Messina, Milan, Perugia, Rome,Turin, Trieste, Venice, Verona and Viterbo. They are expected to record the highest temperatures in the peninsula. Still on Friday next temperatures as high as 35/37C , which may have grim consequences for human health, will be recorded in Naples, Palermo, Pescara and Rieti. Tomorrow 9 cities are expected to be issued the highest level of heatwave alert (red alert), while 11 towns are expected to get a medium alert for high temperatures
