IMF ON MISSION TO ATHENS FOR INSPECTIONS

Thousands of truck drivers are on strike in Greece protesting against plans to liberalise the sector. Today IMF and EU officials started inspections in Athens to verify the implementation of the austerity plan and if possible approve the release of the second tranche of aid for September amounting to 9 billion Euros. The truck drivers strike risks paralysing the country especially as far as fuel supplies are concerned.
