Two men have been executed in Japan, where the death penalty had not been applied for a year. Japan is one of the few industrial and democratic Countries whose criminal code envisages the death penalty as the capital punishment. After signing the sentences, the Minister of Justice – who is favorable to abolishing it – announced the establishment of a committee to discuss the issue.
