LOVE PARADE: DUISBURG MAYOR ATTACKED, ASKED TO RESIGN

A furious reaction greeted Duisburg mayor Adolf Sauerland, who was almost physically attacked by the crowd. The most hostile comments launched at the mayor by angry citizens included, “Greedy imbecile,” “resign coward”, and “you knew it would finish like this”. Today, before beginning a meeting of the town council, called to examine Saturday’s trajedy, the mayor of Duisburg made it known that he is ready to resign.
