According to the ECB, “moderate wage growth” and “greater flexibility” in the labor market are “vital” for job growth. The comment was written in the monthly bulletin issued by the ECB, which informs that the current 10% rate of unemployment in the Eurozone “will continue to drop in 2010, although at a slower pace than in the past”. The Eurotower also points out that “there exists the risk that job creation is insufficient to reduce unemployment over a significant period of time, unless moderation in wage variations is sufficient to stimulate labor demand”.
