NOKIA: -40% IN Q2 PROFITS, WAY BEYOND EXPECTATIONS

Nokia’s net profits dropped by 49%, down to 227 million, in the 2nd quarter, against the expected 285 million. Sales increased by 0.9% to 10 billion Euros. The Finnish company, which has to face up to the competition of Apple’s iPhone and Google’s Android, has already reduced its estimates twice in three months. A Nokia spokesperson prefers not to comment the news that was leaked on the resignation of the Managing Director, Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo. According to the Wall Street Journal, Kallasvuo might have to give up his job already by the end of this month
