POPE ASKS ALTAR SERVERS, COMMUNICATE FAITH WITHOUT FEAR

The Pope asked altar servers from all Europe to, “Communicate faith with joy, with enthusiasm, without fear. Listeners numbered over 60 thousand (45 thousand arriving from Germany) packing Piazza Pio XII to the limit. The gathering appears particularly significant after the long months of media attacks on the Church about paedophilia (which evidently has not discouraged Catholic families). Pope Benedict XVI encouraged the young people to “Guard your friendship with Jesus in your hearts jealously. Every time you approach the altar you have the good fortune to take part in a great sign of love for God, who continues to give Himself to each one of us, to be near to us, to help us and give us strength.” .
