RUSSIA: MORE THAN 500 WILDFIRES ARE STILL ACTIVE, 41 DEAD

Russia continues to burn, with 529 wildfires still active and fueled by the exceptional heat wave. The Ministry for Emergency Situations estimated that 23,600 wildfires have caused the death of 41 people and burned up 650,000 hectares of land. 323 new hotbeds, 247 of which have been put out, have been reported only in the last 24 hours.
