The damage provoked on the Japanese tanker on the 28th of July was due to an attack by Al Qaeda. This, at least, is what is claimed on an Islamist site by the Abdullah Azzam Shaheed Brigade, a group connected to the terrorist organization. According to the claim made, a suicide bomber identified as Ayyub al-Taishan blew himself up against the Japanese tanker M. Star. The incident, which occurred in the Strait of Hormuz, was initially attributed to an explosion and subsequently to an abnormal wave.
