THAILAND’S NATIONAL AIRLINE TO ASK BANKS FOR BIG LOAN
Thai Airways will ask banks for a $626 million loan to restructure, but managers will not set a bond issue date. The company is set to buy 15 new planes between 2010 and 2014 of which seven are Airbus A330-300s and eight are Boeing B777-B300ERs. The airline suffered heavily because of political instability in April and May. The Singapore-based Thai Tiger Airways project is, however, on track.
