US COAST GUARD SAY 254M LITRES CRUDE AFLOAT IN GULF WATERS
According to the US coast guard, some 254m litres – namely 1.6m barrels – remain afloat in Gulf of Mexico waters. Out of a total 5.4m barrels thus far spewed at the wellhead, some 2.5m have either evaporated or degraded; 823,000 have be sucked out of the water; 262,000 have bruned and 100,000 have been scoured off surface waters.
