YEMENI AL QAEDA CLAIMS RESPONSIBILITY FOR QG ATTACKS
In southern Yemen the local Al Qaeda branch has claimed responsibility for a double attack against security QG. The attacks were enacted on July 14 in the southern city of Zinjibar. A spokesman for the group explained that the attacks were revenge for the killing of the “emir of the mujahedeen” in the province of Abyan, Jamil al-Ambari, and the death of jihadist Samir al-Sanaani. The men were killed together with another terrorist leader on March 14 by government troops. The terrorists also claimed responsibility for the killing and wounding of “dozens of people”.
