CHIELLINI SAYS EURO 2012 QUALIFICATION NO MERE FORMALITY

Italy player Giorgio Chiellini commented: “The time has come to return to winning ways.” The Juventus defender added: “Qualification for the European Championships is not taken for granted. It is a tough group and when you start again and bring in young players it is not easy to immediately hit top form. The match against Estonia (3 September) is not a mere formality. We will have to sweat and slog. October’s games will tell us where we are at.”
