FIRE DAMAGES TITIAN PAINTING IN VENICE
A Titian depicting David and Goliath has been damaged by water used to put out a fire. The painting was housed in the seminary attached to the Basilica della Salute in Venice. After the fire brigade intervened, Superintendent Vittorio Sgarbi and Patriarch of the city, Angelo Scola, arrived on the scene to survey the damage. .
