IRAQ: OBAMA LETTER TO SISTANI, SETTLE POLITICAL IMPASSE
Obama has written to Ayatollah al-Sistani: settle the political impasse and the dispute over the new government. The news was reported in the Foreign Policy magazine, which cited members of the top Iraqi cleric’s family as its source. Obama’s letter followed in the wake of Vice President Joe Biden’s failure to resolve the dispute during his visit to Baghdad on 4th July.
