IRAQ: US MISSION OVER: MALIKI DECLARES SOVEREIGN COUNTRY
“Iraq is sovereign and independent” declared Premier Nuri al Maliki as the US mission came to an end. “Our security forces will manage to ensure the protection and safeguarding of the country, combating all threats, both internal and external”, Maliki stated during a television interview.
