ITALY-LIBYA AGREEMENT HAS SOLVED IMMIGRATION EMERGENCY

The agreement between Italy and Libya on illegal immigrants “is an excellent one that solved a serious issue”. This was the opinion expressed by the Minister of the Interior Maroni at a press conference in Rimini. In the past year 3,499 illegal immigrants have landed in Italy compared to 29,076 in 2009, hence -88%. Only 403 illegal immigrants have come from Libya compared to 20,665 in the previous 12 months. .
