NOBEL FOR PHYSICS GOES TO GEIM AND NOVOSELOV

Andre Geim and Konstantin Novoselov are this year’s winners of the Nobel Prize for Physics. The award was offered on the grounds of their pioneering work on graphene, an electrically conductive form of carbon. Their research has proved that ultrathin – 1 atom – slices of graphene posses extraordinary quantum properties. Geim is a Dutch naional; Novoselov holds British and Russian passports.
