ROMANIA’S LOOMING SCHENGEN STATUS FUELS IMMIGRATION FEARS

Interior Minister Roberto Maroni says that adding Romania to the Schengen area in March is fueling immigration fears. Maroni said the action, “has brought about apprehension of a massive influx of people from that country.” He went on to explain, “the Romanian community here is, by and large, well-integrated, but there are groups, mostly nomads, who are a law and order problem.”
