STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO PAY $20 MLN SETTLEMENT TO JAYCEE

Jaycee Lee Dugard, for 18 years captive of Garrido, will get a $20 mln settlement by the State of California. Jaycee was kidnapped in South Lake Tahoe in 1991 when she was 11 by Garrido, a paroled sex offender. He had been sentenced to 50 years in prison on charges of kidnapped and raping a woman in Nevada. In 1976 he was released on parole but was supposed to be suprevised till 199 but state officials with the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation failed to do so.
