TENNIS: US OPEN. MURRAY OUT, NADAL AND VENUS WILLIAMS OK

Andy Murray has been knocked out of the US Open Murray, but Rafa Nadal and Venus Williams are through. Murray certainly wasn’t at his best and asked for a doctor during the fourth set. However, there was no such problem for Nadal. The world number one went through to the last sixteen beating France’s Gilles Simon. Venus Williams, on another windy day, saw off Israel’s Shahar Peer (no.16), who had beaten Italy’s Flavia Pennetta in the previous round.
