Federer makes the US Open quarter-finals; today is the day of Francesca Schiavone’s challenge to Venus Williams. The match will begin at 7 p.m. Italian time. The American tennis player is the favorite number three in the tournament and the winner in New York in 2000 and 2001, while the Milan-born player is sixth seed.
