FINI WILL NOT RESIGN AS SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE

Gianfranco Fini will not resign as Speaker of the House in spite of disagreements with Silvio Berlusconi. Talking to the press, Fini said, “Obviously I will not resign because everyone is aware that the Speaker of the House is obliged to guarantee the respecting of rules and the impartiality of activities in the House. He is certainly not there to guarantee the majority that elected him.” .
