FRANCE EXPELS FIRST GROUP OF 93 GYPSIES TO ROMANIA

A first group of 93 illegal Roma gypsy immigrants are to be expelled from France to Romania today. The first 14 will land in Bucharest at 1.30 pm local time, while a second group, leaving from Lyons, is expected at 4.00 pm. Tomorrow another 132 will be sent to Timisoara in western Romania and to the capital. On 26 August it will be the turn of another 160.
