VOLLEYBALL: ITALY BEAT SERBIA IN RUN UP TO WORLD CUP

Andrea Anastasi’s Italy volleyball team also won its second pre-World Cup test match against Serbia. Vermiglio and his teammates beat Serbia 3-2 (25-16 25-22 19-25 30-32 22-20), after two and a half hours’ play. The azzurri played well in the first two sets, then they flagged a little due to tiredness as a result of their intense preparations for the World Cup. The fourth and fifth sets were a close and hard fought affair. .
