RUSSIA: FIRES – RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL REMOVED FROM SAROV
Russian authorities have removed radioactive material from the ‘top secret’ Sarov facility due to local wildfires. Sergei Kiriyenko, the head of Russia’s nuclear agency, reassured citizens that there is no security risk. The Sarov nuclear research facility, to which only locals have access, is located to the East of Moscow; it was one of the areas that were hardest hit by the fires. .
