FINANCE: EU EXTENDS SUPPORT TO AUSTRIAN AND LATVIAN BANKS
The EU has prolonged its support for Austrian banks and its public guarantees for Latvian ones to 31 December. Both extensions will involve higher costs for the banks. The Commission also extended the same aid conditions to Swedish and German banks.
