NAPOLITANO: ITALY WILL REMAIN A UNITED STATE

Giorgio Napolitano has stressed that Italy is changing, but will remain a united state with Rome as its capital. As he signed the Municipality of Rome ‘Gold Book’ prior to being made an honorary citizen of the city, the Head of State made his “particular emotion at being granted such a high honour” known in black and white. He then added “I should like to pay homage to Rome which, more than ever, is the capital of a changing national democratic state that remains firmly united”
