U.S.: QANTAS ENGINE EXPLODES, EMERGENCY LANDING

The Australian airline’s sources have reported that the 747-400 aircraft, with 230 passengers on board, had taken off from San Francisco to Sydney shortly after midnight local time. The incident occurred 45 minutes after takeoff to engine 4 on the right wing. The emergency ended with no harm, with passengers giving a warm applause.
