Milan public prosecutors office requested the arrest of Calisto Tanzi in connection with the Parmalat crash. The request was made in recent weeks, but has only become public today. It was made after the former boss of Parmalat was sentenced by the court of second instance to ten years in prison for market rigging. The request was rejected by the Milan Court of Appeal, but the public prosecutor’s office, along with the prosecutor of first instance, Eugenio Fusco, appealed to the Court of Review, which sat today. Fusco repeated his belief that the businessman should be arrested due to a danger that he may flee and that he may repeat the crime.
