Residents suspect that the massive oil spill killed eels, crabs and even a whale found in Louisiana’s waters. Generally these types of deaths are common on the US’s south coast, particularly near the mouth of the Mississippi River, but are limited to a single fish species, not wholesale deaths among many species.
