FRENCH POLICE DETAIN BETENCOURT FINANCIAL ADVISER

Patrice de Maistre, Liliane Bettencourt’s financial adviser, has been detained for questioning. Maistre, arrested for the second time in a scandal that has embarrassed Nicolas Sarkozy’s administration, will be asked to clear up a number of contradictions between his first interrogation and the statements of Eric Woerth, the former UMP treasurer.
