TAIWAN: FIRE SHUTS DOWN FORMOSA PETROCHEMICAL

Formosa Petrochemical, Taiwan’s major refinery, has shut down one of its 3 facilities after a fire. The fire ripped through the Mailiao unit last night in the western part of the country where Taiwan’s major petrochemical complexes are located. No one was hurt. The fire is under control but the local media say it will cost the company tens of millions of dollars. .
